Flash Of Fame                  By McKenna

Chapter 1

“One day I wish I was really famous…” Said Taylor Herriot. “It would be so fun to have everyone liking you and everyone wanting to be like me…”
“And Money coming out of your ears!!” Said her best friend Claire. Claire was her exact age and has been her friend since they were tiny. “Hmm that too!!” Taylor said enthusiastically. They were in fifth period and that was reading in the library. She was reading a biography of a famous person. That’s what got her on that subject. “But I don’t think it would be that great. I mean, we might even be separated! I would never find a better friend!!” Claire argued.  “Oh Claire, don’t be a spoiled sport! If I get famous, you would too!” Taylor soothed.

“Suddenly a high pitch bell sounded. “Must be the start of school bell…” Taylor thought. She was too busy thinking about what would happen if she was rich than to realize that school started hours ago. Faintly she heard screams, but did not react. “It must be the kindergarten kids…” she thought out loud.  She closed her eyes. And imagined what would happen if she was famous and rich. She heard footsteps coming toward the room she was in. She opened her eyes to see a tall man with a suit on and a muscular build bust in. “Ma’am, We need Taylor Herriot right away. Is she here?” He spoke very fast. “Um, yes she is here, but I have to keep her here because she was talk”- He didn’t let her finish. “Miss Herriot, step this way; quickly.”  Taylor jumped up and walked out. There was a mummer among the students.

“Wow she’s PRETTY!”

“Who is that man?”

“He looks like he’s important.”

“Duh!! Because he is!”

“Hey, how did she become famous?”

“Maybe it’s because she is PRETTY!?”

“Well, I didn’t even know her name.”

“But she is PRETTY!!”

“We get the idea Scott.”

“Where are they going?”

“Maybe to Hollywood.”

“Yeah because she’s just PRETTY!!”

“SHUT UP SCOTT!!”

“SILENCE!!! ALL OF YOU! THIS INSTANCE!” Screamed the fat librarian. “The library is for QUIETNESS not LOUDNESS!!”

Chapter 2

Meanwhile, Taylor was sitting in a slick black limo. Her new manager by her side and mother on the other. Her mother tried to explain. “Dear, we have something to tell you. Um, well, what we mean to say… is… you… are… um… well... Please tell her Miss Margins.” The manager began “What you mother was trying to say is, we all know that you sing great and that you are a beautiful girl. So you are going on a world tour. You will perform at many spectacular places. Like the Eiffel tower and such. I will accompany you the whole time. Your family will not but, don’t worry you’ll see them in a year or so.” She looked at Taylor and smiled. “WHAT!?!?” Taylor screamed. “I can’t stay away that long!” What about my school friends?” Can one of them come?” “Oh dear, who needs them when you got me? And other famous people.” Mrs. Margins said in a tone of disbelief. Taylor could not believe that Mrs. Margins would be like that. Taylor huffed and asked, “Anyway, how in the world did ‘I’ become famous?” Everyone in the car looked at her. “How did you become famous? DEAR! You’ve been famous!” Said her mother with a worried look.

Then she realized what happened. Her WISH CAME TRUE!! “Yes! My wish came true! Yes Yes Yes!” Taylor blurted out. Her mom looked at her with a worried face.  “Dear, you need your sleep. Come with me honey.” Said her mother. “Yes, Miss Herriot, that’s a great idea! Sweet dreams.” Miss Margins told her.  Her mother took her to the back of the limo. There, in the back, was a huge bed with her name sewn onto the pillows. She had a Wii, 3DS, and a huge set of games. In one corner, she had an exercise place and by her nightstand sat Ipad.  She had a camera and everything. “Thanks mom. See you later. I’ll email you and stuff.” With that she hugged her mom and sat on the bed. She heard her mom sniffling as she left.  Right when her mother left Taylor jumped off the bed and played a little Wii. Then she grabbed her camera and took pictures of the room then of her. She took the memory card out the side of the camera and inserted it into the side of the computer. Now she has those pictures on her Ipad and got on her mail. Then she sent them to her best friend with this message:

“Dear Claire,
How has things been going? Me, I’m fine. I have got all kinds of cool electronics. You know what stinks though? That I tried to get you to come with me and my manager, Miss Margins, thinks I can live without you!!  I felt like yelling at her, “Well, I need friends too! But she wouldn’t listen to me anyway so why bother. Here are some pictures of my room. Enjoy.
                                               Goodbye, Taylor.”

And she sent it off. She relaxed on her bed with her favorite book, Fable Haven and soon drifted off into a deep sleep. She needed it.

Chapter 3

The next morning was new to Taylor. She woke at 5:00 a.m. with Miss Margins tapping on her shoulder. “Good Morning sleepy head. Time to get dressed! Here, let me help you up.” Whispered Miss Margin. Taylor yawned and sat up. “I can get up by myself. What time is it? Two in the morning?!? Oh… I read that wrong. It must have been the sleep in my eyes. Oh I see, it 5:01. Geez… you get up early. Why?” Taylor said with a wide yawn as she lifted herself out of the memory foam bed. “You need to get ready. The reporters will be here any minute to ask you about your world tour.” Miss Margin walked over to the huge glittery curtain on the wall. She pulled it open to show Taylor a huge closet with tons of beautiful clothing. All of it in style of course. Taylor was thrilled.  She had always worn hand-me-downs from her older cousins. She rushed over to the closet. “IS THIS ALL FOR ME!!?!?” She exclaimed. Miss Margins grinned. “Of course. You must look your best for everything!”
Taylor lifted one of the beautiful shirts up onto herself. It fit just right. It had a feather design on it. Taylor smiled to herself. Wouldn’t Claire be jealous.  But she dismissed the thought quickly. She slipped on a beautiful jean skirt that had an intricate beaded design on the bottom and the pockets of the skirt.

Suddenly a chunky middle aged lady marched in. “Are you ready for me to do your hair dallin’? I’m sure you are. Come sit right here on this chair in front of the mirror.” Taylor smiled. Then walked over to the chair and sat down. Again another lady walked in the room with a big basket with tons of hair stuff. The chunky lady thanked her and dismissed her.  “Now dear. I think your hair needs to be straightened.” She grabbed the straightener and plugged it in. “Now,” She said. “My name is Cheyenne.  I will from now on be your hair dresser. Don’t worry I’m really good.”  She gushed out as she straightened Taylor’s natural waves. “I love your blond waves Dallin’! They’re beautiful. Too bad they don’t match your outfit. Maybe next time you should wear something like a…” Taylor closed her eyes. “Will she ever shut up?” She thought. “She talks way too much!”  Taylor opened her eyes. Her hair was as straight as a board and looked much longer as well. Suddenly a cute feathered headband was thrust upon her head. She really did look good.

The chunky lady unplugged the straightener and shoved it in her bag. She grabbed the cart and marched out just as fast as she came in. A minute later she heard a soft knock on her door. “Come in!” Taylor shouted. A thin man walked in with a young lady in her mid-twenties. She had a basket full of perfumes, and Lip-gloss and such things as that. The man came over to Taylor and introduced himself as; ‘Mike’ and the young lady quietly introduced herself as Lacy. Taylor thought Lacey was the most beautiful girl she’s ever seen! “We are going to be your beauty artists. No make-up, Just Lip-gloss and eyelash curlers!” Said Mike. “Wow!” Said Taylor, “um, Lacey, Do you use stuff like this, or are you naturally pretty?” Asked Taylor.  The young lady said, “Something like that!” Lacey laughed softly. They washed Taylor’s face and put on lotion, then powdered it, and so on. When they were done, they both agreed she looked like a diva. Taylor blushed. She was never treated with such luxuries. She came from a middle class family and didn’t have all this stuff since she had two younger sisters and three older brothers. Sharing her stuff with her sisters, she was never so pampered.

Breakfast was awesome. Taylor stuffed herself. After breakfast, she skipped to her room.

Chapter 4

She sat down on one of the plush chairs. She didn’t want to mess up her hair and outfit. Miss Margins abruptly came in. “Here Taylor,” She said. “It’s a question and answer sheet. Its a few questions we guessed they would ask; the reporters I mean. Study up! I’ll be in my room if you need me. Goodbye Dear.” And with that, she left. Taylor stared at the sheet in her hands. She read it to herself. “Q: What made you want to do the world tour?  A: Because I just want to meet all my fans out there. Q: Do you miss your family back home? A: Not Really. I hate my brothers. Their annoyin- “WHAT! That is NOT true. I love my family I miss them so much! I am not saying that. I am going to Miss Margins right away!!”

She stormed into Miss Margin room. Miss Margin was sorting out papers. “Miss Margins, I don’t agree with these ‘Answers’ I’m supposed to say. I love my family! And my brothers! I am not saying that!” Taylor blurted out. Miss Margins looked disgusted. “My dear, you HAVE to say that! It’s part of the script! Now, go study. I’m busy.” Miss Margins clearly didn’t want company. Taylor left in a huffy fit. She thought, “I’m definitely not going to say all that chicken scratch!” Taylor was mad. Really mad.

Just then, there was a knock, followed by Miss Margins, and a few reporters. “They’re here Taylor! Well, I will sit back here while they talk to you.” Miss Margins was clearly nervous. Taylor was ready though. She had practiced; HER answers. “So, Taylor Herriot, What made you want to do this world tour?” Asked the Reporter.
“Well, I really wanted to meet all-or most, of my fans. With my family behind me, I can NEVER go wrong!!” Miss Margins looked at her with a puzzled look. A look that said, that wasn’t on the paper!
“So, does that mean you miss your family back home?”
“Well, yes of course. I love them all! Including my brothers! I just want to make them proud.”

Miss Margins shot her a mean look.

“Which of your songs do you like the most?”

“Um, I like ‘Cherry on top’ and… Oh! I really like ‘Girlie’. Those are cool.”

“Oh I see. Would you say that you’ve got it good on this World Tour of yours?”

“Well, Yes, and No. I miss my family a lot, but I have never had such luxuries at home. I always had to share with my little sisters. I miss my mom and dad. They are the best. And being away from them for a year or so, I will really miss my family.”

And on and on this went. With each reporter, there was a love story about Taylor and her family. Miss Margin looked very distressed. Taylor smiled to herself. She would never talk bad about her family!

Finally, the last reporter left. It was at least 6:00 p.m. Taylor was wiped out. She plopped down on her bed. She heard a soft knock and in came Miss Margins. “Hello Miss Margins. Did I do well?” Taylor greeted. Miss Margins bit her lip. “Taylor, you didn’t obey me. Say what’s on the script, not what’s in your head, Taylor. I was wrong to think you would say those things, but, I forgive you. Next time though, obey.” Miss Margins looked at Taylor with stern eyes. Taylor could tell she was angry. “Yes ma’am. If it’s not trash talk about my family, I’ll obey.” Taylor whispered. Miss Margins rolled her eyes and left.

Taylor turned over on her bed and cut off the lights. She hoped tomorrow wouldn’t be so hectic.

Chapter 5

Just as the day before, she awoke at 5:00 a.m. sharp with Miss Margins leaning over her. “Wake up sunshine. Time to get dressed.” With that she left. Taylor yawned. These early mornings where getting annoying.  She crawled out of bed and trudged over to her closet. She grabbed a long-sleeved gray/white striped shirt with two red roses on it. She slipped a dark-blue jean skirt with roses on the back pockets on. Then she tied a cute red scarf on her hips. She put on gray wedges.

Then Cheyenne walked in. “Hey Dallin’! Let me see your outfit!” Taylor modeled for her.  “Beautiful Dallin’! My favorite style! I get to curl your hair! Should I put it in a curl bun or just down?” Cheyenne asked. “Err, I think it should just be down. Thanks!” Taylor answered. Cheyenne smiled. “Of course! That means you get to wear a French beret! Sit down! Oh goody! Did you know that I do Miss Margins hair too? Oh yes, she’s very un stylish. I have to help her pick out her outfits…” Taylor zoned out. She missed her mother, her friend Claire and everyone back home. Even her annoying neighbor Ryan. He was a bratty six years old, but he was a part of her life back at home, and she missed him too. Claire had not emailed her back, and that made Taylor feel lonelier than ever. “Does Claire not care about me anymore?” Taylor wondered. “I’ll email her tonight.”
“There! All done! You look great! I just love the way you look with a beret on! Dallin’, if you had joined a beauty contest, you would win! Well, Good Bye Taylor Dallin’!” Cheyenne said in a cheery voice. “Finally, some time to myself.” Taylor thought out loud.
The door creaked open. A soft voice answered, “You spoke to soon Taylor!” There in the door was Lacy and behind her was Mike. “Sorry Kiddo. We don’t mean to barge in, but it’s time for us!” Said Mike with a grin. They did the routine and left. Taylor sat on her bed and grabbed her Ipad and wrote this to Claire.

Dear Claire,
Why aren’t you emailing me? I miss you and my family. Tell them I love them. I miss you too. You are my best friend. Please write me!! It’s so boring without you! I never knew what it was like to not be with a best friend. Please hurry and write me! I am so tired. I get up at 5:00 every day! And I am in desperate need of a conversation with a girl my age!
Love, Taylor.  P.S. Please write me!!!

Almost immediately she got an email from Claire.

Dear Taylor,
I miss you so much too! I thought you were too busy for me. With all your new rich and famous friends and stuff. I didn’t know you missed me. I feel as empty without you as my best friend. I want to come to one of your concerts. Just tell me when you have one close to me. They are so expensive though! I will save my allowance just to see. I want to stress how much I miss you! It must be great living like that.
      Love, Claire, your best friend.

Suddenly Miss Margins came in. “Dearie, It’s your mother on the phone. Here.

“Hello?” Taylor said.

“Taylor dear! I miss you! We miss you! I got the family together to tell you something. 1… 2… 3…! GO!”

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR TAYLOR, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!” Chorused her whole family.
Taylor burst into tears. “I forgot it was my birthday! I’ve been so busy! Oh, thank you! I miss you guys so much! I want to go home! I love you!” Taylor gushed.
“We miss you to dear.” Her father sounded like he was trying not to cry. “We got yous a pwesent!!!” Yelled her little sister Lindsey.
“Linie! You weren’t supposed to tell!” Whispered her eldest brother Brandon. Taylor had to laugh. It was so good to hear their voices. “Well, Thanks Guys; Thanks a lot! I miss you sooo much! Miss. Margins got onto me when I told the reporters that I loved you guys. But I don’t care!” Taylor felt so warm inside! They talked for what seemed like 30 minutes to Taylor, but it was really an hour.
Taylor put down the phone. She plopped herself on her bed. She was so tired. The next morning would be dance and singing lessons. Her last thoughts before sleep caught her where the lonely thoughts about her family…

Chapter 6

The training went by without any excitement. Soon it was over. And it was time to start her world tour. Taylor was not very excited. She felt burnt out already with this ‘famous’ stuff. Miss Margins walked in. “Dear, it is time. We are already in New York. The band is practicing. Oh I can’t wait! All these hard days of practicing is finally paying off! Let’s pick out your outfit. Laura, you can come in now!!!” Miss Margin has never seemed so excited about anything. But this, she was enthusiastic. “Dear, Laura is an expert fashion designer. Let her pick out your outfit.” Laura looked through the clothing. “Hmm… All this stuff is ugly. I’ll do my best though. Do these even fit you? They look to small.” Said Laura. Taylor rolled her eyes. Almost immediately she had picked out a, from the looks of it, super cute outfit. “Now Miss Taylor,” Laura said in a know-all tone. “It is time for you to try it on. Here. Take this and go try it on in the bathroom.” Taylor took the outfit and tried it on. It looked fantabulous. The hot pink scarf around her gray lacy shirt, and her gray
and pink designed skirt, and pink stilettos, she looked like a model.

The morning routine was done and she was sent off to the concert. When she got there her knees buckled. There was a whole band behind her and a whole crowd of fans in front of her. She was happy the show had not started yet. She felt Miss Margin nudge her on her side. ‘Quick, before the show starts; go sign autographs.” Taylor looked at Miss Margins. Her stressed eyes had a slight twinkle in them. Taylor grinned as she walked down from the back of the stage. Almost immediately she was mobbed by happy people on all sides. They all were screaming and yelling. Taylor got frustrated. “BE QUIET! NOW!!” Taylor yelled. Every one quieted down.  “Now. Make a nice and proper line and I will sign autographs.” It took a while, but they eventually made a nice line. Taylor signed autographs for an hour. Her hands were sore. She eventually stopped saying hello and even looking up. She wanted to go to sleep; or anything other than this. Finally she got to the last person in the line. She glanced up at her.  “Hello, Taylor. It’s me, Claire.”  She rubbed her eyes. “Claire? Is that you? Is that really you? Oh Claire! I missed you so much! You look so much older! How are you?” Taylor smothered Claire with hugs and sobs. Claire did the same. “Yes, it’s really me! I-we miss you! We as in everyone back home.” Once the reunion was over, she went to her dressing room. There, she went and washed all signs of tears of her face. “Well, this is it.” Taylor thought. “I am so scared!” Taylor, though she was suddenly put on the spotlight, she really did sing good. And, she loved to dance. Miss Margins rushed in the room. “Dear, hurry up. Get up there. Your fans are waiting for you! Oh, and don’t think about how many people are in the crowd staring at you. And don’t even think about croaking. You won’t dear. I know so. Now, go get ‘em! And do it well!” Taylor closed her eyes tightly and made a silent, short prayer.

“Dear God, help me to do awesome on this!!” Taylor opened her eyes. And walked nonchalantly out of the curtains. Everyone cheered. “Oh gosh! There are so many people out there!” Taylor thought. She stuttered. “Uh… Hel-Hello! I am Taylor and I’m about to sing s-some great songs! Are you with me!?!” Taylor was getting the hang of it. She sang her hit song, “Girlie” She sounded great on the first two songs, but toward the end, she did something she would never forget. She (Gasp) CROAKED!! Taylor tried to pretend that it didn’t happen, and she croaked again! Taylor started to cry. She just couldn’t sing anymore. Everyone gasped. “Poor little girl…” The parents were saying.  “This stinks.” The kids were saying. Miss Margins walked out to the podium. “Thank you for coming. We are going to have a 15 minute break. Then the show will start back up. Thank you.” Miss Margins grabbed Taylors arm and dragged her to the back. “Taylor! I am so frustrated with you! We practiced so long! You did everything I didn’t want you to do!! It makes me so angry Taylor! People might want their money back! We aren’t going to get a lot of money! Taylor started to sob. “Oh Miss Margins…” Taylor blurted out. “I-I didn’t mean too! Yo-You see, I croaked!! An-And I tried to stop, but it was so frustrating! Then I-I croaked again! I am so-so sorry!!” Taylor started to sob again. “That was NO excuse! You are going to take lessons all day till’ you get it down. STOP CRYING LIKE A LITTLE GIRL!! You hear?!!?” Miss Margins scolded. “U-mm yes ma’am.”  “Now, Taylor, I have a lot of work to do. You better not get in the way!!” Miss Margins left in a huff.

Taylor grabbed a tissue and blew her nose. She had never seen Miss Margins mad before. She had always kept her calm. Taylor felt horrible. “I just made a fool out of myself. Now everyone is mad at me. That’s just dandy.” Taylor thought out loud. Then suddenly a familiar voice broke into Taylor’s self-pity party. “No, that’s not true. You sing great!” Taylor whipped around. There was Claire, and a few kids from her school. “Oh Claire! It was so scary being up there in front of everyone! I am so embarrassed!” Taylor started to cry. “It so stressful!”

Chapter 7

Everyone looked at her with pitying looks. “Aren’t you happy?” ventured Scott. Taylor looked up. “No way! It was cool at the beginning, but I am so lonely! I don’t think you would understand… What am I doing? I should be a good host. Come with me.” Taylor whipped her eyes and grabbed Claire’s hand. Everyone followed.
“Now, here is the trailer I am living in. Come.” Taylor led them into a hallway that brought them to her room. Once inside, everyone gasped. “Wow! This is like, bigger than my house!” Claire blurted out. “Is this your very own Wii? Oh Man!! A 3DS!! And an Ipad!!” Scott blurted out. Taylor laughed. “Yes,” Taylor said. “Those are my own personal electronics. You can play them if you want.” Meanwhile everyone was making hearts around them. Taylor blushed. Claire pulled back the curtain over Taylor’s closet. She gasped. “Wow Taylor! You have it made!!” Taylor looked down at her feet. “I don’t want to sound un-thankful, I love the stuff, but it doesn’t make up my missing you guys. And my family too. Oh Claire! It’s terrible!” Taylor complained. “Well, we hope you do good! Right guys?” Claire cheered.  “Yeah, we will cheer for you!”  Taylor smiled. “Thanks guys. You really help. I’ll do good just for you.”  Taylor hugged each of them. “Well, I have to change for my next performance.  Let me help you out of the trailer.”  Once they all left, Taylor changed her clothing and redid her hair. She walked out and signed autographs. But this time, she put herself out. She would say stuff like, “Hello little girl, what’s your name?”

Or…
“So how old are you?”

And…
“That’s a beautiful name!”

So on…
“I like you!”

Taylor was having a lot of fun. Suddenly she felt a sharp tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see Miss Margins. “Go get up there! The show is about to start!” Miss Margins urgently whispered.  “Sure.” Taylor walked nonchalantly up to the stage. The crowd went crazy. “Hey guys! I’m back! And (hopefully) better!!” Taylor greeted. And with that, she sang her songs perfect. She felt free from stress. It was the best feeling ever. She felt as if she was floating on a cloud. Oh, and the applause! The applause!! It was eardrum-breaking. Taylor felt happy, tired, and faint. And, for some reason, she did faint.

Chapter 8

Taylor woke up on her bed with her friends surrounding her. “Are you alright Taylor?” She heard Claire whisper. “Um, yeah… OW! My head hurts! What happened to me?” Taylor wondered. “You see, it’s like this.” A girl named Shelby helped out. “You were curtseying and then all of the sudden you fell into the crowed. You fell on Scott and so you didn’t break anything. But you hit your head on his. And he is in the other room recovering from the blow.” Claire chuckled. “It was hilarious. I couldn’t help laughing. Do you feel better?” Taylor sat upright. “Yeah I feel Um, Nicer than I did when I woke up. The headache is getting better. All I remember is feeling a mixture of emotions and then fainting. It was heavenly up there on the stage! You had to be up there to understand!”  Taylor laughed out loud. She heard a knock. “Here comes mother.” She thought briefly. Then remembered that she wasn’t at home anymore.  Suddenly in a rush of bad feelings, she felt very lonely… She missed her family. She missed her brother’s hearty laughs and her sisters little quirks… her mother’s comforting…  her dad’s strong hands, and her cozy home. Miss Margins stalked in the room with Scott following her. “Scott is feeling better. So he’s going to join you all. Kids… here he is.” Then she stalked right back out the room. Taylor slipped her legs out the covers and looked around. This would have been heaven to her just 2 weeks ago! But now, she hated it more and more! Taylor sighed out loud. Claire looked at her. “You all right Taylor?” Taylor raised her head. “Huh? Oh yeah. I guess. I just miss my family. You all sort of stand as reminders of them.” Taylor stumbled out of bed and sat down by Claire. Claire was playing the Ipad. “Taylor! This is so cool! I mean. I’ve seen them at the mall and other people’s houses, but these things are great!” Taylor offered a faint smile.  “Yes, I suppose they are great aren’t they? Claire, May I talk to you privately? On my bed?” Taylor questioned. Claire sat the Ipad down. “Well, of course! What’s up?”

“Well, remember that day when I said I’d love to be famous? The day they took me from school?”

“Well, Yeah. I remember. Why do you ask?”

“Was I famous before that? I mean, do you remember if I ever was famous?”

“Come to think of it, No I don’t remember if you were.” Said Claire with a confused look.

“So, people say that I was… But, if I was, why would I wish for it? Why would I even have been there? Claire, this isn’t right. Is this one big practical joke? I am so confused. Claire, you’re that smart one. Do you know what happened?”

Claire clasped her head in her hands and squeezed her eyes shut. “Let me think. Hmm… Maybe you just got your wish. Pure and simple!” Claire thought.

“Hmm… I doubt it. I have never heard of something this big happening to someone who wasn’t in anyway famous before. I just don’t know what to think.” Taylor grinned.

“Oh Taylor, It would probably be best you don’t think. You would probably be better off.” Claire stated with a grin. Taylor lightly punched her arm.

“Well, I don’t like not knowing what to think. I’m going over to Miss Margins and telling her what we just said. Maybe she will know what happened.” Taylor slipped out the door toward Miss Margins apartment. Claire followed after her. “Wait up Taylor!!!” Taylor turned around. “What?” Taylor said impatiently. “Taylor, what if we are the only ones who know the truth and everyone else doesn’t know! What if she thinks you and I are loony or something!?! What would we do? Oh Taylor, you don’t want that do you?” Taylor rested her hands on Claire’s shoulders. “If I don’t get this worked out, I may become Looney! I don’t know about you, but I’m going to ask her.” Suddenly, she got knocked down by the children screaming and running. She hit her head on metal and went unconscious. Somewhere, someone screamed fire.

Chapter 9

It seemed like a few seconds till’ she opened her eyes again. She immediately closed them. Then blinked and tried hard to keep her eyes open and focus at the same time. “Now, now dear… Just keep them closed if it hurts. How do you feel?” She felt a rush of relief. It was mother! “I feel” She lowered her voice to a whisper. Her throat burned. “Bad… My- throat hurts. And my eyes. Ohh and my leg!” She scrunched her brows at the pain. “Poor dear…” she heard her mother say. “Oh mother what happened?” The struggle to say that much left her throat feeling as if it were on fire. Tears ran down her face. “Shhh Sh!! I’ll tell you just quiet down… Sh!”

Taylor opened her eyes and struggled to see her mother’s face. There it was! She could focus with less pain! She closed her eyes again and silently wept. “Taylor dear, there was a fire at your school. Everyone got out of the school in time. Besides you. Scott remembered you and ran in there and found you unconscious. So he picked you up and carried you out. Your leg was burnt and your eyes must have been hurt by the smoke. My guess is that you inhaling all that smoke must have hurt you throat. Thanks to Scott, you didn’t die in there. Taylor opened her eyes to see her mother crying. “Oh mom… don’t cry. I’ll be alright. What happened to Scott?” She said in a hoarse voice. “Scott is in the other room. He had been hit on the head by debris on his way out. It was on fire. His arm was severely burnt. Like your leg. Which got hit by the debris to.” Taylor’s mother summed up. Taylor started crying again. She tried to sit up. It hurt, but she managed. She looked down at her leg. It was wrapped up. Yet she couldn’t feel wraps anymore. In fact, she couldn’t feel any pain from her leg. “Mother?” Taylor asked in a alarmed voice. “Mother, WH-why can’t I feel my leg!?!? Have I lost use of it? Oh mother!!”

Taylor’s Mother smiled. “Of course not dear. Don’t worry. That’s numbing medicine!”  Taylor sighed in relief. “Oh!! I almost forgot! Here honey, drink some water and take this.” Taylor’s mother held out a pill and a glass of water. Taylor sipped the water thankfully and swallowed the pill. “Thanks mom. Mom a had a dream about while I was out cold. It seemed so real. I was famous.” Taylor said thoughtfully. “Now, that’s not real. Don’t worry. You sit tight Taylor, the doctors coming in a little while to see if you are awake. She is very nice. Her name is Miss. Margins.” Said her mother as she leaned back in her chair. “WHAT? Her name is Miss. Margins? Noooo!!!!” Taylor yelled through her scalded throat. Mother sat up. “Sh Sh! You mustn’t yell! It’s not good for your throat. What is wrong with the name Miss Margins?” Her mother said with a startled look. “You wouldn’t understand... you just wouldn’t understand.” Taylor whispered. “I’m afraid this might hurt your voice permanently. I’m so… sorry.” Her mother said in a sympathetic voice. “So this means I’ll never be famous for my voice huh?” Said Taylor. “I’m, afraid not…” Said her mother. “That’s okay because I’ll never want to be famous! It would be a nightmare!” Taylor said in a thankful voice. Her mother looked at her with a questioning look but said nothing. Taylor grinned in response.

Uh, Long Time No See!

Yeah so I slacked off on my blog... but I'm back! (Thanks to Rayne. Love you girl!) Anyway, I decided to change up my blog. like it? I added a few blogs to my blog list including
Creations
and
Rambling from a Red Head
andddd
Life in God Lane.
They're all great!

That picture I put up on my header is of last Easter. It was great. This Easter instead of a bunch of candy, I'm getting a pack of peeps and a game for my 3DS called Animal Crossing City Folk which will come out this Easter for the 3DS! I would much rather that than candy anyway.

An Ode to Toad.

In School yesterday I made my own Ode to toad for my creative writing. It was fun! Here it is...

The Ode To Toad Sung by Toad.

This is an Ode to me.
It’ll be wonderful as you can see.
I’m perfect in every way,
I know all the right words to say!

Yes, I am truly handsome,
People would hold me for a high ransom!
Everyone flocks around me like sheep,
And when I talk, they never say a peep.

For a frog, I am very rich,
As other live in a ditch!
 But my mansion is gigantic,
Why, it’s bigger than the titanic!

I have the best of everything,
And I am the best at singing!
I have every good trait you can think of,
I am as innocent as a dove!

Beautiful Ladies look my way,
And with the most admirable voice say,
Who is that handsome frog walking on the road?
And they all exclaim, why it’s Mister Toad!

This was an Ode to me.
It was wonderful as you can see.
